Department of Dermatology, Venerealogy & Leprosy
The Department of Dermatology, Venerealogy and Leprosy has procured latest instruments – Laser Units, Zigma Multiplataiform, Akiva ‘q’ switch Nd: YAG LASER, Cryo units, whole body PUVA and PUVA units, Microdermatrosion, Electrocautery, Radiofrequency unit and Dermascope with T.V.Monitor.
The Department is providing the following facilities:
- Pigmented removal
- Unwanted Hair removal
- Growth/Benign tumors removal
- Scar revision
- Facial rejuvenation
- Tattoo removal
- Removal of vascular lesions
- Treatment of Keloid and skin tags
- Treatment of Psoriasis and Vitiligo
- Platelet Rich plasma for Androgenetic Alopecia and non-healing ulcers.
- Integrated counseling and testing centre for sexually transmitted disease and HIV/AIDS
Several programs like Psoriasis day, Leprosy day, Health camps at PHC's are being conducted by the departement for patients benefit. CME's are being conducted on a regular basis to keep the staff and students updated.
The staff and postgraduates are academically active attending state, national & international conferences with post graduates winning awards for paper & poster presentations and articles being published in various National and International journals, bringing laurels to the department.
Over the course of time, the department has evolved currently containing equipments like Laser, Dermabrasion, PUVA, NBUVB (Phototherapy).
Latest procedures are being available like PRP therapy (Platelets rich Plasma) for various skin and hair conditions, electrosurgical procedures, vitiligo surgeries, chemical peels, Botox and ICTC for HIV.
